The move would have closed a so called "gun-show loophole" that has put guns in the hands of countless murderers without vetting. These members of Congress were among the 46 in Senate whose votes failed to give the gun control measures the 60 votes needed to move forward.
I hope that by listing their names here it will aide mounting efforts to defeat them in the coming elections:
Alabama -- Sen. Jeff Sessions (R)Voting without a conscience should have consequences.
Alaska -- Sen. Mark Begich (D)
Arkansas -- Sen. Mark Pryor (D)
Idaho -- Sen. Jim Risch (R)
Kansas -- Sen. Pat Roberts (R)
Kentucky -- Sen. Mitch McConnell (R)
Mississippi -- Sen. Thad Cochran (R)
Montana -- Sen. Max Baucus (D)
Nebraska -- Sen. Mike Johanns (R)
Oklahoma -- Sen. Jim Inhofe (R)
South Carolina -- Sen. Lindsey Graham (R)
South Carolina -- Sen. Tim Scott (R)
Tennessee -- Sen. Lamar Alexander (R)
Texas -- Sen. John Cornyn (R)
Wyoming -- Sen. Mike Enzi (R)
After the vote Patricia Maisch, a survivor of the mass shooting in Tucson, shouted, “Shame on you” from the gallery. “They need to be ashamed of themselves,” Ms. Maisch said as she was being escorted from the Capitol. “They have no souls. They have no compassion.”
Each of them should be voted out of office in 2014. Their names are dirt.
