'Distributed Journalism' and the Sleaze Boss

Dan Gillmor credits "distributed journalism" -- as applied by two prominent blogs -- for the success in convincing House Republicans to reverse a rule change that would have allowed Texas sleaze boss Tom Delay to retain his position even if indicted.

I guess we'll have to wait on Dan to tell us what "distributed journalism" actually means. Is this just a cover for a less savory term -- "advocacy journalism" -- which makes many old-school scribes cringe?
