Jeff Jarvis at Buzzmachine, takes issue with MediaCitizen for drawing an equivalence between President Bush's initial contribution of $35 million in aid to tsunami victims and the cost of the war in Iraq. Jarvis asks: "What's the point of comparing all these tragedies except, each in its own way, to exploit them to make a political point?" Well ummmm . . . . yes. But didn't the flood of criticism over the administration's initial "stingy" response play a part in provoking the president to up aid to $350 million? Even in responding to tragedy, politics has a part.
