Tehran Erects Firewall

Iranian journalists and technicians report that judiciary officials have ordered all major ISPs to filter all blogging services including PersianBlog, BlogSpot, Blogger, BlogSky, and BlogRolling. They have also ordered to filter Orkut, Yahoo Personals and some other popular dating and social networking websites. Extra: blogger describes his torture at the hands of Iranian authorities.

This is horrifying! Pressure should be put on the media to investigate this horrid example of how we are bringing 'democracy' to Iraq.

Problem is in Iran not Iraq. Different set of issues, same basic geography.

As long as internet services are allowed to access destinations outside the country, any effort by governments, be it the United States or Iran, to restrict information is a race the censors are doomed to lose.
